History
Year 2008 - Ramadan
Year 2008 will be remembered in history of Mehdavia Community of Sydney In sha Allah as a stepping stone towards a united community. Alhamdulillah!
A very important foundation was laid in forming what we are today and In sha Allah in what we will grow into as an organization.
First Dugana Lailatul Qadr ba jamaat was held in Harry Todd Band Hall, Sydney under the imamat of Hz Maulana Hazrat Syed Mohammed Sarfaraz Mehdi Miyan Qibla Tashreefullahi Sahab. Alhamdulillah - though our numbers were not great then (just around 60 attendees). However, the mehdavia brotherhood was strong.
2009 - Alhamdulillah another successful Ramadan
Alhamdulillah we were blessed with yet another year with Dugana Lailatul Qadr under the imamat of Afzal-Ul-Ulema Hzt Syed Ashraf Roohi Khundmiri Miyan Qibla, son of Mufassir e Quran, Shams-Ul-Ulema Hzt Peer O Murshid Allama Meeranji Abid Khundmiri Sahab Qibla Damaat Fuyuzuhum.
2010 to 2015 - Taraveeh and Dugana Lailatul Qadr Events
With each passing year, our numbers grew. So did the intense urge to keep our Mehadavia Community united. Masha Allah - May Allah bless all the brothers and the volunteers involved to keep our Ramdan events going.
Some of our brothers have contributed greatly by organising Taraveeh prayers and Ramadan gatherings just for the sake of Allah SWT. Events continued in South Parade, Auburn and then in Chisholm Rd, Auburn for many years. Keeping our brothers united and our iman strong.
2016 - Weekly Sunday Ijtema Gatherings
Our Ramadan gatherings continued, however, our brothers wanted to do more for our community and for each other. So, year 2016 marked the beginning of Sunday Weekly Ijtema and gatherings on religious occasions on Clarke St, Berala.
Though the attendance remained constant for couple years, but it laid a very important foundation in reviving the mission our brothers envisioned back in 2008. The need to be recognized as a religious community in Sydney. May Allah keep us all steadfast in keeping our iman firm and help each other to build towards a strong community.
2019 - Mehdavia Community Of Sydney formed
Fast forward a few years - Alhamdulillah finally the day most of us envisioned came true on 19th April, 2019. With the determination of our brothers, (some who were part of this great mission since its founding years, while some young blood on student visas) the community is registered with Fair Trading NSW, Australia.
This opened the door for many possibilities to what we can be as a united religious community. Being recognized as Mehdavia Community in Sydney, Australia fulfills part of our faith. It also provides an opportunity for the next generation be part of Mehdavia Community in Sydney. In sha Allah!

2020 - Musallah Established
Year 2020 was another great achievement. MCSI officially opened its' door to our very own community musallah in Feb 2020. Allah had other plans - and he is the best of the planners.
The first few months of the Musallah was not operational due to CoVID closures and lockdowns. However, Alhamdulillah Allah had a greater plan. Musallah was back in operation again just before Ramadan 2020.
Masha Allah what a Ramadan that was. Most of our community brothers took benefit of this blessed month in getting together for prayers, community gatherings, jalsa events and much more in our community Musallah.
2021 - Dugana Lailatul Qadr
Year 2021 Ramadan also marked the most successful Dugana Lailatul Qadr event for our community. Alhamdulillah! May Allah SWT accept prayers of all our Mehdavi brothers.
From the first ever Dugana gathering of just over 50 members in 2008 to 250 in year 2021 shows we have grown many folds as a community. May Allah keep us grow in numbers and keep us firm on our faith.
We expect the numbers will grow larger as more and more of our Mehdavi brothers arrive in Sydney and as our next generation grow older. Thus we need the support of you, every Mehdavi brother living in Sydney, to join us in a noble mission to grow our community stronger.
